Kippax Modern. The custom typeface for Man City
In 2022 we collaborated with TwelfthMan designing a custom typeface for one of the top football clubs in the world.
Named after one of its legendary stands (The Kippax at Maine Road stadium), Kippax Modern is a contemporary interpretation of typography rooted in the industrial heritage of Manchester. It is hardworking, full of character, bold, and uncompromising. Like Mancunians, it is also friendly, welcoming and a little bit cheeky. It is global and approachable. It is timeless - just like City.
The resulting typeface is an extensive font family boasting 6 weights ranging from Thin to Black across 2 widths, as well as matching oblique and reverse italics.
