New font release
Please welcome the opulent Bw Darius
On July the 26th 2016 we launched our first retail serif font: Bw Darius, an elegant wedge serif typeface, halfway between the transitional and didone genres, with a sharper approach to terminals without falling on the stiffness of the didones.
Its opulent personality is built around a wide skeleton, modern proportions and high contrast. The tall x-height and open apertures makes the font fit for display but also body text purposes, performing well both on screen and printed.
The new font release designed by Alberto Romanos, spreads across 4 weights from a delicate Light to a robust and sturdy Black, covering all European Latin languages. It includes extended OpenType features like Old-Style figures, fractions, case sensitive forms, standard ligatures and unusual discretionary ligatures.
Designing Bw Darius has been a journey of iterations refinements and testing with the wedge serifs evolving considerably during the process.
